Generals of Kaladan is a premium fantasy strategy board game set in a richly imagined world of rival realms, ancient crowns, and political intrigue. The project required developing a cohesive visual universe capable of supporting gameplay, storytelling, and marketing across both physical and digital platforms.

KingLionet collaborated closely with the creator of the game to transform an early creative vision into a fully realized visual world. What initially existed as scattered references and experimental concepts was translated by KingLionet’s artists into consistent, high-quality digital artwork and design assets.

Through artistic interpretation, digital design, and 3D asset development, the team helped establish a unified visual language for the world of Kaladan, ensuring that characters, environments, and artifacts all belonged to the same immersive universe.

The result is a polished and distinctive visual identity that supports the narrative depth and strategic atmosphere of the game.

About Client

The client, an independent game creator and creative director based in the Netherlands, approached us with a vision to build a new fantasy intellectual property centered around the strategy game Generals of Kaladan.

The goal was to develop a complete visual identity for the world of Kaladan — a setting composed of multiple realms, each with its own architecture, culture, and visual language.

From the earliest conversations, the client emphasized the importance of:

  • A cinematic and immersive fantasy aesthetic
  • Distinct visual identities for each realm
  • Characters that feel powerful, memorable, and believable
  • Consistency across all visual elements of the project

Working closely with the client, we translated these ideas into a structured artistic direction and produced the digital assets required to bring the world of Kaladan to life.
